St Petersburg Add-On | 2 nights in St Petersburg, the former Imperial capital of Russia, then the overnight express to Moscow. (can be added ahead of any Trans-Siberian itinerary) |
Beijing to Hong Kong | 2 nights in Beijing, then by bullet train to Hong Kong (can be added after any Trans-Siberian itinerary) | The Great Chinese | 2 nights in Beijing, then by overnight train to Xian - with a trip to the Terracotta Warriors - then on to Guangzhou (=Canton), and by hydrofoil to Hong Kong (can be added after any Trans-Siberian itinerary) |
Please note that - contrary to popular myth! - there aren't daily services on ANY section of the Trans-Siberian routes, and some sections are served by trains which operate weekly - or even less frequently than that! For these reasons, it is normally not possible to foreshorten any of our recommended itineraries, or to vary the start-day given. Nor are any kind of "go-as-you-please passes" available, unfortunately!
