Trans-Siberian Express Trips BEIJING TO HONG KONG
|
Beijing is the end of the line - you have to stop here! Don't rush through, Beijing has lots to offer - as well as the Forbidden City, there is the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, Lamaist and Daoist Temples, street markets, modern shopping - both the ancient and modern faces of China can be seen here.
Beijing is still a long way north from Hong Kong! It takes nearly 36 hours to cover the distance, even on the new High-Speed Direct Train. Please note that the old Beijing-Guangzhou train has been discontinued, since the High-Speed Train duplicates the route. There is nothing to be gained by getting-off in Guangzhou, since you are actually leaving a train already bound for Hong Kong, in order to spend extra time and money getting to Hong Kong anyhow!
If you want to take longer and see more en-route from Beijing to Hong Kong, try our Great Chinese Route which takes you from Beijing to Xian, Guangzhou, and ends in Hong Kong.

Timetable Beijing - Hong Kong
Trains between Beijing and Hong Kong currently run on alternate days, but there is not a specific "rule" (like "odd days", or "even days, for example) to calculate which day. Trains run on alternate days in 2000, beginning on 02-Jan-99 - the only way to calculate it is to work-through until the date you want!
For this reason, you may sometimes need to add an extra night in Beijing in order to make onward connections work. We will always check your dates for feasibility!
