The Russia Experience does not sell airline tickets, as there are so many possible ways you can use our journeys. You might travel across Russia from one side to the other. Or take the train down to Asia – and onwards. Maybe you are going all the way from the UK to Russia by train, but will need a flight home eventually. Is this the start of a Round the World journey? Or is it the trip of a lifetime?
We are aware that, sometimes, the flight prices that you can find might seem prohibitive? If that is the case, let us give you some good advice. Often it is NOT cost effective to check costs directly with an airline’s website, as they will price the journey as two one-way air fares. Not a good idea! If you would like a competitive price for flights, some travel agents hold specially negotiated Trans-Siberian Air fares; for instance, UK to Moscow or St Petersburg, and returning from Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong or Vladivostok. Please check before buying two one-way air fares, because the negotiated fares through a travel agent are usually much more cost effective. We work very closely with a branch of Fred Olsen Travel.
If you would like to check with them about the air fares for your trip, please call 01284 766866 and ask for Mark. We hope this information helps, and for all Trans-Siberian enquires contact us on 0845 521 2910
The Russia Experience does not sell train tickets to Russia but we know many of you are now keen to travel all the way from the UK to Russia to commence your Trans-Siberian journey.
This might be to extend your train experience or because you chose not to use a plane – whatever the reason if you travel this way make sure that if the train goes through Belarussia you obtain a Belarus transit visa.
If you would like to travel across by train we are happy to recommend trainseurope; We work very closely with them and if you would like to contact them for train prices in Europe or all the way to Russia you can contact them on 0871 700 7722
We hope that helps you and for all Trans-Siberian enquires contact as always on 0845 521 2910.
There is nothing more frustrating than arriving at your destination and realising that you left something behind.
