Destinations:
TRANS-SIBERIAN

The Trans-Siberian Railway is the longest journey you can undertake by rail anywhere in the world. There are three basic routes:

  • Moscow to Beijiing, via Mongolia (most interesting for things to see en-route)
  • Moscow to Beijing, via Manchuria (historically more interesting)
  • Moscow to Vladivostok (potentially interesting, but Vladivostok has little transport by which to leave
Trains go weekly on the first two - every other day on the third one. But you don't have to wait a week for the next train if you get out somewhere!! There are many other trains on these routes which don't go all the way, but make a part-route somewhere or other. We know all these trains, and put them together in our different suggested itineraries.

A few things to note:

  • One-night stops practically never work anywhere, for train timetabling reasons (ie no train onwards next day)
  • Trains mostly operate in two classes - 4-berth/2nd-Class, or 2-berth/1st-Class. We can book any of these options for you - provided the train actually runs on the day you want to travel.
  • Please note that the scheme of train timetables, and how they operate and interact, is not a very large one. The possibilities are not infinite, and in fact boil down to about 22 different permutations all told. All of those permutations are in our brochure - we offer the widest selection of Trans-Sib itineraries, stops and stays in the world, no other company offers as many as we do. If it's not in our brochure, the reason is because there is no train service to make it operate the way you'd like it - sorry!
