This is the complete answer to the visa question for most people....

If you are in the UK - or you can send us your passport here by courier - we provide a complete visa procuration service for all clients who have booked trips with us. The Consulates themselves charge a Fee (see below) to issue visas, but we don't make any handling charges in addition.

For those of you who don't enough to worry about in life, here is the fine detail on visas....

Russian Visa

Only issued to people who have a fully-booked itinerary which covers all the dates during which they will be in Russia, without breaks. If you've booked with us, then you are already in this happy position :-)

Valid only for the specific itinerary and dates you've booked

Only issued 3 months (or less) before you arrive in Russia

WE WILL NEED:

IT TAKES: 10 working days (faster if you pay Rush Fees)

Mongolian Visa

Only issued to people who have a fully-booked itinerary , which they can confirm
Only issued 3 months (or less) before you arrive in Mongolia
WE WILL NEED:

Chinese Visa

Only issued to people who have a fully-booked itinerary , which they can confirm - but very often they do NOT ask to see any kind of confirmation documents.
You must enter China within 90 days of issue date!
Valid for up to 30 days travel once you have entered China (you still get 30 days, even if you entered on the 89th day after issue). You can renew once and get an extension of a further 30 days, but there is a lot of form-filling and delay involved - it usually involves coming back 3-4 days later to collect.
Although we don't charge handling fees for Russian or Mongolian visas, we do have to charge GBP30 (plus the visa fee itself) for handling Chinese Visas, to cover the very substantial admin costs they involve us in :-(
