Fabergé Eggs

home

Probably the single most famous exhibit in the Kremlin Armoury Museum is the display of FABERGE EGGS.  These were made specially as gifts for the Royal Family by the Royal Jewellers,  Carl Fabergé and Co. - a different egg each year.    To visit the real eggs - and the magnificent collection of other Royal Treasures,  gifts from foreign ambassadors,  royal carriages, etc etc,  you have to make a booking to see the collection (you cannot just turn-up,  entry is limited),  but we offer this option to all our clients visiting Moscow - you can book it locally.    It's guided by one of our nicest guides,  Lena,  who is a true expert on the Kremlin.

Trans-Siberian Egg!

The Trans-Siberian made such an impact on the Russian world,  that one year,  it was the special focus of that year's Fabergé Egg.    The egg contains a tiny clockwork model of the train,  whose miniature motor can take the model nearly 7cm - compared to the 9001 km which the real Trans-Sib travels!  Ú
