A testimonial of the Trans-Siberian experience
This week we’re dedicating our blog post to refer you to a wonderful account of Melissa who has taken the Trans-Siberian trip with the Russia Experience company and enjoyed it immensely. She shares her experiences and numerous photos she took along the way in a comprehensive travelogue on her own website.
Melissa, an American traveller, made the trip earlier this year over a period of 24 days and gives a detailed account of all stages of the journey, including the preparations for the trip and the costs. She even shares details and photos of what she packed for the journey – a useful guide for anyone who is considering the trip. Flying over from the US to Russia, she began the epic journey from St Petersburg, through Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, through Mongolia, and ending up in Beijing.
Apparently an avid diarist, Melissa provides interesting descriptions and observations of the various stages of the journey, giving a true flavour of the Trans-Siberian experience. “I found Russia to be friendlier, wealthier, and more modern than I was expecting,” she writes. On the Mongolia section of the journey, she found a stay in a Ger tent out in the windy steppes to be her favorite part of the trip. And in China, she found that the “mountainous scenery on the way to Beijing was stunning” and even had a glimpse of the Great Wall. She records that she took over 750 photographs on the trip, truly a treasure trove to keep memories alive for a long time and to share with family and friends.
Melissa’s conclusion: “All in all, it was a stress-free trip with a very thoughtful and consistent experience delivered throughout by The Russia Experience… Totally worth the effort and money!” This testimonial couldn’t be put better.
Once again, the travelogue is at this location. Enjoy.
